Finding Part-Time Jobs in Germany:
More than 60% of international students do some kind of part-time job to manage their expenses in Germany. Germany, in comparison to other developed countries, is cheaper. You still need to compensate for your living with hourly-based part-time work.
The German government has given the benefit to students to work 120 days full time or 240 days half-time in a year. Here is a list of what you are permitted to do.
- Students must be of 18 years or above.
- International students can work full time during their holidays.
- If you are working as a resource assistant or student assistant, it will not count in your limits.
- Students can do extra hours if the job is very crucial and necessary.
- Unpaid internships are also counted in 120 days work permit.
- Non-EU students cannot work as freelancers or be self employed.
- Students looking for more than 120 days’ work must have a return permission from the foreigners registration office and local employment agency.
